This is to build applications for Android
Linux Setup
- Download the [SDK]
- Add to the `$PATH` the tools location
export PATH=${PATH}:<sdk_location>/tools:<sdk_location>/platform-tools
- Install add-ons and documentation
- Download and install plugin for the prefered IDE
Windows Setup
- Download SDK
- Install SDK
- Disable anti-virus
- Install add-ons and documentation
- Download and install plugin for the prefered IDE
How to setup Eclipse to build Android Apps on Linux
This setup Eclipse and Android Eclipse Plugin on Linux
- Install Eclipse
yum install eclipse eclipse-jdt eclipse-gef
- Enable the proper eclipse repository, based on the release codename
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/<eclipse_release>/
- Update eclipse, 'Help > Check Updates'
- Add the ADT on 'Help > Add New software'
- On the new dialog click on 'Add' button and add `https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/` in location and `Android Plugin in name field
